Recommendation technologies

1. Scope

This document explains how the Platform orders and selects the information shown to a user — that is, which recommendation technologies are applied.

What applies today and the principles for features that will appear later are described separately. The document is updated together with the product.

2. What applies today

2.1. Order within city sections. Items are shown by date, newest first; events by start time. No behaviour of an individual user is taken into account.

2.2. Search within a city. Results are ordered by how well the query matches the title and description, and by how current the record is.

2.3. City search. The only personalisation in effect. The order is: cities already operating on the Platform first; then closeness of spelling to the query, including typos; then cities of the country stated in the profile; then city population.

2.4. What we do not do. We do not collect viewing or click history to select content, do not build interest profiles, do not use data from third-party sources and do not share such data with third parties for recommendation purposes.

3. Principles for future features

When collections, a “near you” feed and similar mechanisms appear on the Platform, they will follow the rules below. Until then this section is an undertaking rather than a description of what is in place.

3.1. Selection may be based on: the city and district stated by the user, the categories they choose, distance to an object, the date and time of an event, the interface language.

3.2. Behavioural data (views, clicks, search queries) may be used only with explicit notice and within the scope described in the Privacy Policy.

3.3. Users will be able to switch selection off and return to plain chronological order.

3.4. Special categories of personal data are not used for selection.
